For eight years now, Dr. Christiane Nolte has been the Women’s Representative at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC). She is especially committed to increasing career opportunities, raising the profile of female scientists, and improving work-family balance.

On June 23, 2016, the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz Association (MDC) was awarded the audit berufundfamilie (”Work and Family“) certificate for the third time for its family-friendly policies. Some of the MDC’s new measures include health promotion offers and a service for employees who have to care for family members.

Everyone has responsibilities outside work, and the MDC wants to help its staff reconcile their professional and family life. At the information day on January 12, the project group explained the options available and Administrative Director Dr. Heike Wolke gave a talk in which she set out the philosophy behind the family-friendly policy.
